Today I get to be a guest on my friend’s blog, The Alliterate Author. I’ve known Alissa and her family for about twelve years. Her sister babysat my son when he was just a wee little lad. Now he’s on the verge of the terrible teens and my friend is a newlywed. She and her hubby make the cutest couple ever.
It’s shocking how everyone around me grows up while I just keep getting younger. It’s a phenomenon I do not understand, but choose not to question.
Despite the name of her blog, she’s fully literate and writes some great book reviews. My critiques tend to consist of the phrases “I like it” or “It stunk”; however, I tried to step up my game today and give you a real book review. Well, as real as I can write one.

Done! I was interested in your friend’s words anyway because of my own long-standing interest in AD – I even wrote my PhD on it and it got published in book form. Still Alice is so worth talking about – bravo to her!
I had a no idea you wrote on this topic. You should have a link to your book on your blog, so we can buy it and read your thoughts.
My grandmother had AD and I just happened to pick up Still Alice on a whim one day. It’s such an enlightening read on a topic that needs more awareness. I’m so glad my friend invited me to write about this book.

No probs! Irony for me is that Husband has Parkinson’s dementia (early stages). I think my book is ‘findable’ via googling my name but yeah I should get around to putting a link. Your friend writes well doesn’t she!
lol. I wrote that post on my friend’s blog, the one about Still Alice, but yes, she writes extremely well, much better than I do. I enjoy her book reviews. I didn’t realize exactly what your husband’s condition is…maybe God was just preparing you with your study and writing on the subject. I know you have a lot on your plate with your family right now. You’re an amazing woman and you are in my prayers. I hope your son is feeling good today.

Just read the review and now I am downloading the book to my Kindle. My grandmother had AD also, and it was so difficult, especially near the end of her life. Thanks for the great review and the book suggestion.
Sorry to hear your grandmother also had AD. I think you’ll enjoy this book. It brings new insight into their world and struggles.
