A Moment to Remember

This is one of the many poems my grandfather wrote in his Red Cross Journal.  He was proud to serve in the 82nd Airborne Division and was a prisoner of war during World War II.  I love that last line…

Their memory to-day, to-morrow, always will abide.

My Grandfather

Let’s take a moment this holiday weekend to remember and honor those who have fought and those who continue to give their lives in service for our country.

The FringeFamily would like to thank every man and woman who has served and is currently serving in our military.  You give your lives and we give our thanks.

Many prayers for you,

    I’ll add an “Amen”.

Your grandfather’s poem reminds me of “All’s Quiet on the Western Front”. The scene is very similar. It must have been so frightening for those young men.

  7. Wow, and I second the “Amen.” Amen.

  8. Amen ~

  9. That is a lovely poem. Your grandpa must have been a wonderful man. You are so lucky to have his book.
