About

Hello, my name is Tricia.

I am wife to one electrifying husband, and mother of two spazzy kids.

I moonlight as a freelance writer and monthly contributor to An Army of Ermas and Adding Zest to Your Nest.

I live here on the domestic fringe in denial of my actual age, avidly avoiding scales, and eating too many M&M’s.

I hope to encourage you in the monotony of everyday life.  The goal of The Domestic Fringe is to help people smile.

I feel like women are full of pressure to succeed, meet expectations, and continually strive to be “perfect”.

I hope The Domestic Fringe will become a place for women to escape stress and laugh a little.

Won’t you join me in this adventure called life?

By the way, I’m a terrible speller.

Let me introduce you to FringeMan. We have been married for thirteen adventure filled years.  He is an electrician turned preacher who can’t manage to escape the fire prevention business – house fires and hell’s fires.

At one time he played in a hard core band and was a nuisance wildlife trapper.  Life with FringeMan is anything but ordinary.  You can read all about our love story HERE.

We have two amazing children who have managed to inherit every goofy jean we possess.  FringeBoy and FringeKid are little blessings.  They challenge our sanity and cause us to shake our heads in wonder.

FringeKid

FringeBoy

Thanks for visiting The Domestic Fringe.

I do hope you come again…often.

    Tricia,

Your blog popped up on my tag surfer. I enjoyed your site and ‘welcome’ to the blog world. I have a super recipe for an overnight French Toast that makes it’s own caramel topping. Check it out. I hope you will visit and hope you find something you can use. I post a lot of recipes, money saving ideas, etc.

Hello there Tricia, it is an absolute please to meet you. I enjoy your blog, and have been on it for a couple of hours now. Your loaf recipe is divine, and I shall try it out one of these days. The beauty of writing comes from within, and it really doesn’t matter if your not good at spelling neither. Your expression touches others, as much as it is felt. All the very best of a beautiful journey on your blog. x

  7. Pat October 25, 2008 at 9:26 pm #

That is ‘pleasure’ even I have moments of forgetfullness in words..

  8. Ruthie November 6, 2008 at 3:58 am #

I was a pk growing up and so admire any family in ministry! God bless you for sharing the laughs because in ministry you see so much and could easily be burdened. Thanks

  9. Pat November 7, 2008 at 5:58 pm #

I noticed that as I posted it, but didn’t pay close attention to it, as I know you understand the notion of the sentence anyhow. :)

  10. Pat November 7, 2008 at 5:59 pm #

My message was rather more beyond the words. The words just act as a tool, and even if they don’t come out correct, it does not matter as what counts is the message. :)

From one terrible speller to another….howdy! Nice to meet ya!

Nice picture. I won’t make fun of your necklace this time. I have a headache and I’m probably PMSy too, which accounts for my comments here tonight :) Sorry, I’m a package deal, PMS and all.

  13. Mom November 8, 2008 at 6:13 pm #

I love this picture. Can I have a copy of it?

  14. Mindy November 8, 2008 at 9:16 pm #

Tricia, here is what you do to “get” your award. Go to that pink box thing (Kreativ Blogger Award) on my page…on your mouse, right click. A screen will come up and you will choose the option to “save picture”. It may ask you where to save it. I saved mine to “my pictures”. Then, when you go to your blog, you write your blog and select this as a picture to insert. I think you can handle it from there.

If you want to add it on the side, like a proud recipient, go to your customize section in your blog (you have a different blog site, so I’m not sure what kind of features yours are called)…you should have an option to add a picture on the side, and you can just browse and click it in.

Does that make sense? Don’t save this for people to see! Delete it after you figure it all out. Or if you need more details, holler. I may not have used the right words.

Congrats! And thanks for the entertainment! ~Mindy

    Hi Tricia,
Thanks for stopping by my blog today (cowboy hat post). I love the pic of the kids crossing the bridge .. And you amongst the daisies. Those daisies are so pretty they don’t look real.
I’ll take a look around. I agree about too many moms feeling the need to be perfect in all spheres of existence. I subscribe to the “just good enough” parenting model. No perfection sought, I wouldn’t come close anyway.

Hello! I just did a search for blogs about West Virginia and yours came up about the man you seen on the side of the road. I took a peek at some of your other posts and I ran upon the one about homework. I went through that a couple of years ago. I don’t think they should give them homework at all. They are there all day. Kids that are homeschooled don’t have to do as much work as our public schooled children do. I see them out shopping with their parents when I am out getting my groceries. I have one in preschool right now and I am keeping him in preschool another year because he won’t be ready for all of that homework they will give him when he starts school! Seriously, it’s crazy and I have enough gray hair as it is! lol

By the way, were you just driving through WV or do you live in WV?

You have a nice blog. I did read a comment that someone said something about a deer but I couldn’t find the post.
It sounded like it was a funny one!

  25. mcoville May 19, 2009 at 12:46 pm #

Great blog and I look forward to reading more of what you have to offer. I hope that what ever I can offer to your discussions will be helpful and I welcome your comments any time.

I pray God will bless your ministry and encourage you in the face of the enemy.

Very good idea. My blog is sort of geared towards the same concept but directed specifically to health.

Sounds like we have a few things other in common such as our faith, 2 children, and denial. ;-)
