This creamy grape salad will make your stomach sing Alleluia. It is that good.
If I’ve scared you off from my cooking with tales of thrown together meals, be scared no more. This recipe absolves me of all my prior cooking mishaps.
Forget I ever said eating dinner at my house is a little like play Russian Roulette. That was a total exaggeration.
This recipe is all kinds of dreamy.
And it’s not really mine, so put your mind at ease.
I hijacked it from a friend.
- 4 pounds seedless grapes – mix green and red grapes
- 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
- 1 (8 ounce) container sour cream
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 ounces chopped pecans
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
Mix everything except the grapes and nuts.
I’m going to make a suggestion here.
When you use vanilla, use real vanilla extract…like, maybe Fringe Vanilla.
Some of you may not know this, but I make my own vanilla extract. It’s my secret recipe (not really, but that ups the super-cool ante) and it’s extremely yummy.
100% Pure Vanilla Extract
In the comments, let me know if you want a bottle. I have 2 oz. bottles for $5 and 4 oz. bottles for $10.
Yes, that was a shameless plug, but I just couldn’t pass up the opportunity.
After you have all your ingredients mixed together, it’s going to taste like whipped cream, only better. Add some chopped pecans and then add your mixture to your washed grapes.
Take the grapes off the vine.
I know that’s like saying a cup of coffee is hot, but I felt like I should say it anyway. Grapes must be picked off the vine, or else your tummy won’t like me very much.
Now pop it in the fridge for a few minutes and let it all get good and cold.
You’ll eat it for breakfast, for lunch, and for dessert.
Please tell me you’ll try it!
