I actually looked up synonyms for bathroom, because I wanted something a little more fabulous in my title, but a powder room makes me think of a bunch of women retouching their makeup. A restroom makes me think of a restaurant, and a lavatory makes me think of an airplane trip. Since planes have the smallest bathrooms in or out of this world, I decided to go with plain, old bathroom.
However, this bathroom will be anything but plain!
You all know I recently redid my bathroom. Well, I’m still in love it, but I have a terrible little secret.
Upstairs in my hallway, there is a teeny-tiny closet with a toilet inside.
It is the oddest feature of my home, not exactly a selling point, but technically speaking, I suppose we do have two bathrooms, or one bathroom and one water closet, literally.
Now if dreams always came true, I would create a luxurious bathroom with a mixture of modern and old school pieces.
Although I’ve always been in love with a vintage claw foot tub, I’ve come to realize I like the ease of modern pieces that have the same qualities I love about their vintage counterparts.
Claw foot tubs are cast iron and terribly heavy. They also need to be painted on the outside and the porcelain redone on the inside. It would be absolutely luxurious to have one of these gorgeous deep soak tubs delivered and installed in my dream bathroom.
Have you seen these wall-less walk-in showers?
I love, love, love them. Seriously. If I had space, I would definitely attempt to talk my husband into creating one of these shower.
I’m over-the-top in love with this sink.
We always seem to end up with pedestal or wall-mount sinks in our bathrooms. I have a love/hate relationship with them, because storage is always an issue, but in this case, I’d place a pile of fluffy white towels on that shelf.
I’m just quirky enough to love this toilet.
I mean, it’s fun, right?
Most importantly, my dream bathroom would have heated tile floors. Impey Aqua Systems offers a variety of products, including several solutions for heating the bathroom floor.
A heated bathroom floor has the potential to transform a girl’s mood on a cold winter morning. I may never become a morning person, but this would help in my transition from sleep zombie to alert and productive human.

It’s a good question.
Well, I have large number of readers and visitors that come from the UK each day and read The Domestic Fringe. So, this is a bit of a shout out to you. Thank you so much for reading my blog.
I am happy to feature an international company every now and again.
And, since UKBathrooms is an online company, shipping is available to much of Europe.
Now tell me,
what would your dream bathroom look like?

Claw foot tub! Claw foot tub! Claw foot tub!
We are in the process of doing our bathroom up and it is such a massive decision to make choosing the right bathroom suit and tiles and colour scheme. I think we changed our minds at least 5 times before agreeing on something and we still can’t decide on floor tiles! We really wanted a roll top bath and a walk in shower unfortunately the room is just not big enough so had to settle for less :@( http://alittlecornishhome.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/fitting-bathroom-tiles-transforms-room.html
Love the tub, but there is no room in my water closet for it!
OH YEAH…QUIRKY IS GOOD! 🙂
I have a claw foot tub, and I love, love, love it. It’s the perfect size for soaking, and adds a perfect vintage touch to my bathroom.:)
About the quirky toilet… I would be afraid of that toilet tank landing on my head one very bad day. Your bathroom color is one of my favorite colors on earth.
I would love to have a bathroom like your dream one–especially the heated floor and the lovely deep tub. What a beautiful mix of old and new plus functional and luxury!
Oh my I could have have that tank that high, when it gets stuck I would not be able to reach it….LOL I would LOVE a claw foot tub but would need enough room to have a stand up shower stall as well. I like the clean lines of a modern bathroom but love vintage touches though. 🙂
