I’m saying Hello to Monday with a few of my favorite winter recipes.
I don’t know how it is where you live, but here in New York, winter is still in full force. We are in a homecooking, comfort food kind of mood. That’s why I decided to share my favorite winter recipes with you.
I love a hot breakfast. Cold cereal is fine for June, but in March, when the wind is blowing and the snow is piling against the window, I want something hot.
In my post on 5 Cooking Short-Cuts, I show you how to cook an egg in a perfect circle.
These breakfast sandwiches can be made ahead of time and frozen. All you need to do is pop it in the oven or microwave and you have a hot breakfast on the go. That’s a must have kind of recipe in my house. My son can even eat one on his way to the bus stop.
There’s nothing I like better than the smell of baking bread. Well, nothing except maybe spreading that fresh baked bread with a thick layer of butter.
Jam and cream cheese spread all over this bread is good too, and don’t even get me started on grilled cheese sandwiches. You’ve never had a good grilled cheese until you’ve had one on homemade bread. Seriously. I just wish they were low-calorie.
I have the easiest homemade bread recipe. It’s time tested and reader approved. When you try it, let me know how it turned out. I suspect you’ll make it often.
Rustic March Stew is not only hearty, but it is also tasty and filled with good foods. It will stick to your ribs and nourish body just in time to shovel those last few snowflakes.
This is a one pot meal that is easy to make. There are a lot of ingredients, but they are all basic items you can find in any grocery store and I guarantee the prep time will be worth it once you take the first bite.
Not long ago, I went out on a limb and made this recipe when we were expecting guests. I wasn’t sure what they would think, but they loved it just as much as we do.
This next recipe may the easiest and most versatile recipe I make. I’ve made this dish using chicken, pork, and even beef.
One-Tw0-Three Chicken & Gravy is such an easy recipe, it’s impossible to mess up. Even if you are a terrible cook (and I have first-hand experience with terrible cooking), you can impress your friends and family with this simple dish.
Chocolate Balls with M&M’s come off a page ripped directly from my handwritten recipe book. My mother introduced me to these little chocolate treats and they are all things wonderful.
Ladies, feel free to use them for medicinal purposes, because I believe they are the cure for hormones gone wild. There’s just something about chocolate that is so very soothing to the female soul.
Well, friends, that’s a look into my recipe archives. These are some of our favorites and I hope you’ll enjoy them too.
Above all, I hope spring will be here soon, because I am So Over winter!
