You can never start preparing for Mother’s Day too early.
Ladies, can I get an Amen?
This year, I wanted to do something special for Mother’s Day, so I put together an eBook, only it’s not just a regular old eBook, it’s a gift book. It’s pretty enough to print out and give as a gift.
We all buy our moms a card, and either we buy the card that make us laugh or we buy the card that brings a tear to our mom’s eyes. They usually have a fancy little poem of sorts and we scribble our name at the bottom.
This year, I put together something way better than a card. Oh, you can still sign at the bottom and there’s a page-long, heartwarming message to your mom, but it’s so much better than a grocery store card. It’s an Mother’s Day Gift Book and I promise, it will make her laugh.
How am I doing so far? Am I selling you on this gift book?
3 Ways to Give the Mother’s Day Gift Book
- Send it as an eBook.
- Print it as an 8 1/2 x 11 book and bind it with ribbon.
- Print it as a booklet, staple it and add a personal binding.
I added a fun dollar store gosgrain ribbon to my books, but you can use twine, fancy ducktape (if you wanna be all redneck posh), or for the minimalist moms, you can staple it. Dress it up, dress it down, or leave it naked. Your choice.
These are the front and back covers.
Printing Booklets
If you’d like to print this as a booklet, I found a wonderful tutorial by Adobe.
For my printer, I made one slight change. I did not have to click “auto rotate pages”. It will depend on your printer whether you need to rotate pages or not. I’d advise a test run in b&w/fast draft.
Don’t worry if your printer won’t make double-sided copies. Mine doesn’t either. I simply printed the front of the pages and then reloaded the pages to print the backs.
For the mom in the trenches, this book will be an encouragement.
For the older moms, it will be a reminder of good times, hard times, and all the blessings that go along with the title Mom.
For the new moms, it will be a relief to know they are not alone.
For the moms-to-be, it will scare the heck out of them.
