You may remember me saying that I wanted to try and get some more use out of this maxi skirt. Although I bought it in Walmart and did not pay much money for it, I still wanted to wear it more than one way.
That’s when someone suggested I pair it with a tank top. Every other option kind of flowed from that idea.
What I Wore Wednesday has certainly taught me to be more versatile with my wardrobe, to mix and match, and take some fashion risks.
Some things work and others don’t. No big deal.
Skirt: Walmart, Shirt: Walmart
Tank Top: Hand-me-Down
This hand-me-down chambray shirt is probably the most useful top I own. I’ve worn it with printed pants, colored jeans, skirts, dresses, and even shorts. It goes with everything. It’s also perfect for layering. In the winter I add a long sleeved t-shirt underneath.
Shirt: Old Navy
Ok, I must admit, this shirt doesn’t really “match” this skirt at all. There’s no red in the t-shirt, but I still really like it together. I think it just kind of goes, or maybe I’m fooling myself. Either way, I think I’ll keep wearing it like this.
Ok, this may be a stretch, but it’s my colorful look.
I never, ever belt things, but I see so many women featuring belted tops and even sweaters on WIWW that I thought I’d give it a try.
Does it work? What do you think??
So there you have it – 5 Ways to Wear my Chevron Striped Maxi Skirt.
Since the skirt only cost around $10-$12 dollars, I think I’m getting my money’s worth out of it.
Do you have a maxi skirt?
What’s your favorite way to wear it??
It’s funny because they two looks where you said you weren’t sure if they really worked… are my favorite! lol I love it with the printed tee. And then you know me and color, so you know I love it with the bright yellow belt and colorful necklace! =)
The third look is my fave! Not only is chevron my favorite pattern but the addition of a denim top is perfect especially for summer. Such a great look. You really know how to work that skirt!

Simply Just Lovely
I love the LOVE t-shirt and the belted combo is really cute! (It makes your waist look super tiny!!!)
Definitely an optical allusion. Maybe I’ll wear that belt with everything!
I love all of the looks—-or maybe it’s just that you are so darn cute in all the pictures! I’ve never been a lover of maxi skirts on me because I’m so short, but my daughter, who is even shorter (never quite made it to five feet) loves maxi dresses and looks fabulous in them. But she’s like you—looks pretty fabulous in almost anything.
Favorite was the love t-shirt.
NOT MY STYLE…but the model here looks great in it!!!!!
My favorite was the last look …. I really like the belted look.
Nope. I’ll leave those to you girls who rock them so well.
These are all great! I especially like the last one (always looking for work-appropriate wear!) and the “Love” t-shirt. I can’t wait to try some of these looks with my newly-acquired skirt!
I love the last look, with chambray and a belt! I am definitely gong to try that with mine.
My favorite is the tank and love tee! It totally works. Long necklace with the tank would be cute!
I actually like the belted one most. Way to go, girl!
