I woke up yesterday morning to another twenty-four hours of snow and bleakness. On the verge of the next deep freeze, I decided I could either wallow in a jar of Nutella or find something to redeem the day.
I decided on pictures. That makes perfect sense doesn’t it? I’m not a photographer and I don’t have a fancy camera, but I do have the driving force of snow behind me. I grabbed my cell phone and an extra pair of socks and left on a mission – Winter Wonderland.
Join me, won’t you?
Pictures come at quite the high price. I never realized how dangerous snapping a photo could be, but I managed to step off the road and fall right into a ditch.
A snowy sink hole swallowed me. Only a tuft of hair and one hot pink boot remained visible. If I didn’t pull myself up and out of that ditch, I would have been drifted in within five minutes.
That’s how people get lost in a winter wonderland. Take snapshots with caution.
What are you doing to redeem the long cold days of January?
Funny! At least falling in the snow doesnt hurt. i fellin therain yesterday. BLush! LOts of rain and cold here.feel like hibernating. WE arecoming your way he end of May.
Oh, wow. Very cold. We have had pretty mild weather here- lots of clouds but nothing below freezing and certainly no snow. Way less rain then usual. Guess that means we are in for it this summer. Glad you saved your life: )
It was a beautiful day here, but so cold you could feel your nose hairs shrivel up. Today it is even colder! I think I will eschew the walk to get photos, but I did enjoy yours very much. There is something so peaceful about snow–if you’re not trying to go anywhere it in.
Love the red barn shots! And the creek — isn’t it fun to be able to get such great shots with a cell phone! Even your snowy legs.
Yes, love my cell phone camera. I mean, I know my pictures aren’t great, but it’s fun to be able to capture snapshots when you’re on the go.
Lovely photos! My favorite is the frozen waterfall, so pretty!we had a high of 66 today in E. NC, buutt the temps are dropping like a stone and we may have snow by morning, crazy!
There’s such atmosphere to these pictures! (Well worth a dip in the snow.)
Love the photos! I can relate with the snow sink hole.i actually fell off my front steps into one myself yesterday.
Love your shots! I wish I had taken one of the town near me a few weeks ago, when the wreaths on the lamp posts and everything else glittered with white and snow, it was a post card from 100 years ago (except the Prius) I have been baking a lot since I hate cold and unfortunately live in Jersey. Drawback – I also eat the cookies…. Keep ‘em coming – your posts brighten these cloudy snowy days!
Beautiful shots!
Thanks Jennifer. Turned out to be a fun afternoon.
