I tried to get dressed this week, despite the ridiculous flooding in our area. Naturally I missed a few days, because I doubt you wanted to see my oldest clothes soaked with muddy water and other gunk (we’ll leave it at that, because I prefer not to think about what else could be in the mud and water). Besides, my clothes were the last thing I was thinking about.
That said, I did manage to snap a few photos.
This photo was taken in the beginning of the day. I was exhausted. I don’t know why, but I guess it was a rough day.
So I took a nap, woke up and traded the skirt for a pair of jeans, braided my bangs (even though you can’t tell) and I look more alive.
T-shirt = Old Navy, Skirt (in first photo) = Old Navy (thrifted), Jeans = Kohl’s
I also wore this dress my mom gifted me (again). It’s terribly comfortable and perfect for summer.
The entire outfit, top to bottom, is Kohl’s.
Jeans = same as above, Shirt = hand-me-down, Shoes = please forgive me, things are muddy!
Ok, girls. I have issues with circle scarves. I can’t seem to wear them right!
Although I love this circle scarf and I admire them on other women, they just don’t seem to look right on me.
I tried it both long and wide and I think they both look kinda funny. I wore it anyway, but…
Help!
Comments and guidance appreciated.
Last week, I said I’d like to figure out a way to wear this maxi skirt more. Someone suggested a solid black or chocolate brown tank.
So, I tried it out.
I’m just not one for wearing tank tops. I have nothing against them, but I’m not super comfortable in them unless it like 95 degrees outside.
So I added my chambray shirt and knotted it at the waist. I never do that, but I thought I’d live it up a little.
Skirt = Walmart, Tank & Chambray Shirt = Hand-me-Down
What do you think?
Yay or Nay??

100% yay on the maxi skirt outfit – I love it!! (And I think it looks great with just the tank too
I think the knotted shirt is so cute! I’m gonna have to try that look (when I lose a few more pounds). And your head shot is beautiful.
You look amazing! I love your polished and pretty makeup look, and you’re rocking the circle scarf! So cute!
Love the skirt in the “tired” photo. You have such a nice slim waist — those are the only people who can wear such skirts. I know, I’ve tried them on… And I feel the same way about tank tops. The only place I wear them is in my own back yard to get some sun. Although you look great in them!
I really like the outfit you got from your mom! I love circle scarves too, but I always seem to wear them wrong. It frustrates me because the whole idea is that you don’t have to tie them a certain way. Or is that not the idea? Maybe that’s my problem! : )
love the last chevron skirt!
Here’s mine for the week if you want to take a peek (Maxis, Lace & Sunglasses):

I love the knotted shirt with the skirt. And I think you pulled off the scarf perfect, I really like it.
