This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group™ and People StyleWatch and InStyle magazines, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #PeopleInStyle http://cmp.ly/3/8vNxcO
I am fully convinced that if women want to, they can wear clothes that are in style, trendy, and affordable.
If ten women go out on a shopping spree this Christmas, they will have ten very different budgets. They will all come home with different outfits; however, each woman can find and buy clothes that are in style and flatter her body no matter her budget.
Some of us get trapped in “poor me” mindset. We think we can never look cute or wear current fashions, because we don’t have a large budget for clothes.
That’s not true, and today I will attempt to prove it to you.
You can wear the latest fashions at any price-point. It may take a little more digging to find what you’re looking for, but it can be done, well-done.
Coat: Loft – around $25.00 on clearance years ago.
I absolutely feel the need for a disclaimer. I am not a fashionista by any stretch of the imagination. I’m way more Mary Ann than Ginger and I like to be as comfortable as the next woman. I have a relatively small wardrobe and wear things until they fall apart – in style or not. I rarely wear heels and I love my fluffy pink bathrobe more than my on-trend printed pants.
If I can find fashions for less, you can too, but only if you want to. If fashion ain’t your thang, no worries my friend. As long as you’re dressed, it’s good by me.
Now, on to the fashion inspiration.
Here is an example of affordable fashion. The photo on the left is a lace dress featured in People StyleWatch magazine. The photo on the right is me wearing a lace dress I snagged for under twenty dollars. Take inspiration from your favorite style magazine and then shop for pieces priced to fit your budget.
It’s not necessary to copy fashions, just be inspired by them and then find what works for you – your body and your budget.
Printed pants are all the rage right now, especially camouflage pants for winter. I’ve seen them in just about every store I’ve stepped foot in over the last two months. You can definitely find them priced to sell.
A friend just posted a photo on Facebook of two pairs of printed pants she recently snagged, each costing five dollars. It doesn’t get any better than that my friends. Try using store coupons or shopping out of season. You’re sure to find something will work for you.
My own printed pants cost eight dollars. They were tucked in a clearance rack and I fell in love.
Remember: Thrift stores don’t just carry people’s old clothes. Many thrift stores also carry brand new items from many major retailers. It’s worth a trip to your local thrift shop, but remember these 10 Rules for Thrift Store Shopping.
Let Target help! When you buy both InStyle and People StyleWatch magazines, Target will give you a $5 gift card. You can take that gift card and use it towards building your wardrobe! The gift card promotion will begin on 11/29 and run through 12/7.

You look adorable in that green dress! And I love all the looks – especially the camo one! (Of course! LOL!!) I definitely get a lot of inspiration from fashion magazines. And also PINTEREST!
I LOVE that Target dress!! You are too adorable in it, too.
I love your lace dress. You find the cutest pieces! Instyle is my favourite magazine, I had no idea they had a promo with target and people style watch – i’ll have to check and see if that’s in Canada too. My city just got a Target this month!
