Allergy is my middle name. Seriously, if there is ever anything wrong with me, nine times out of ten, it’s caused by allergies. I’m not even talking about the obvious allergy symptoms like sneezing, watering eyes, and a scratchy throat. Allergies can cause all kinds of bad health problems.
Allergy pills have been a party of my normal daily routine since I was a child. For me, controlling my allergies directly affects my asthma, so it’s important I keep my allergies in check. ZYRTEC® helps me do that every day.
At times, everyone in my house is on ZYRTEC®. It’s the only allergy medicine that works effectively and immediately (within the first hour of taking the medicine) on indoor and outdoor allergies. Plus, it’s 24 hour relief!
Some of us suffer from what is called ALLERGY FACE®. You know this look. In fact, you may have even seen it in the mirror – the puffy eyes, the red and runny nose, the swollen cheeks…it’s terrible!
And, it’s nearly impossible to hide. Have you ever tried to cover your ALLERGY FACE® with a bunch of makeup? Ya, doesn’t work well.
I’ve found the best thing to do for my ALLERGY FACE® is to plop a bag of frozen peas right on my face and let the cold take down some of the swelling. Sometimes you can find gel masks in the pharmacy that can be refrigerated. Use one of these in the morning, and watch how much better your ALLERGY FACE® will look in only minutes.
Be sure to take ZYRTEC® before applying your ice-pack. The two products can work together to get your morning off to a good start!
Then I like to go with what I call my no-makeup makeup look.
I use some brightening moisturizer (lots of moisturizer!), BB Cream, a little cream blush, some mascara, and gloss. It’s minimal, but then I don’t have to worry about lots of makeup smudging when I blow my nose a thousand times a day. Also, if your eyes tear, get water-proof mascara. It’s worth the extra work to remove it.
Now, for the professional makeup advice…
ZYRTEC® teamed up with celebrity makeup artist, Jamie Greenberg, to give you tips for “dressing” your ALLERGY FACE®. My no-makeup makeup look closely resembles Jamie’s “Barest Beauty” look, but I am certain she does it so much better than I ever could.
Wouldn’t it be fun to have your makeup done by a real-life makeup artist? I would love it. I would have them do a fun and funky look on me for sure. None of this natural looking stuff!
