Welcome to What I Wore Wednesday, The Pleated Poppy’s fashion event of the week.
If you’re new around here, taking pictures of my daily outfits may seem insane. I mean, who cares what I wore last Monday?
I get that. I don’t care much myself, however, I absolutely love the hundreds of women who are brave enough to have their husband or children snap pictures of themselves so we can all be inspired.
When you are a stay-at-home / work-at-home mom and woman it’s easy to get lazy and a little too comfortable in yoga pants and a bathrobe. Know what I mean?
It’s nice to get dressed (on most days). It’s amazing how getting dressed and feeling good about how we look affects productivity. Now, I like to be grungy as much as the next woman, but I try to shake off my lazy. Some days my fluffy pink robe takes center stage and some days I make myself look (mostly) presentable.
When I remember, I get someone to snap a picture for me, because WIWW isn’t about being a fashionista. It’s about being a real woman doing her best to get dressed.
Jeans: Old Navy (old), Sweater/Scarf: Loft
Ok, lets chat for a moment about shopping out of season. It’s not the most fun thing in the world, but if you’re clothing budget is small, it’s the way to go. Now is the perfect time to buy winter clothes. We are drawn to fashion and styles that are in season, but if you retrain your brain to shop out of season, your wallet will thank you. I snagged this sweater from Loft for $9 and change.
Sweater: JCPenny, Pants: Kohl’s (old)
Ok, you can’t see the greatness of this sweater in this picture, but it’s super-heavy and warm and it’s covered in bits of ribbon. I snagged it in a JCPenny just outside of Atlanta. It was under $20 bucks and I had a $10 coupon off $25. This sweater bought together with a cute summer shirt for my daughter totaled under $20 dollars.
Please excuse the fuzz on my arm. There are some things I’ll just never learn, like not to take pictures of fuzz.
…bad, bad blogger.
Jeans, Shirt, Scarf: Loft, Jacket and sweater (hidden): Target, Booties: Kohl’s
I snagged a fun pleather jacket in Target. There’s nothing like wearing black plastic to make you feel in style.
Somehow I didn’t take a full picture of this outfit, but imagine this shirt and the jeans in the first picture above. That’s the outfit.
I did finally get a hair cut and I broke out my fancy $5 hair dye. Yay for no more grays!
And that my friends is today’s edition of What I Wore Wednesday.

Wow it’s like I’ve seem these outfits before … just lovely.
Way to get dressed! Sad that you’re no longer in the sweet, sweet (land of Publix) south!
Love the outfits, though.
Too cute! I love the “wearing black plastic” comment…hilarious!
Your hair looks great and I love the green bicycles on your shirt in the last photo! Such a pretty combo with the necklace, too!
